The Xperia XZ2 Premium is a bit better than Galaxy A40, getting a overall score of 82.2 against 79.6. The Xperia XZ2 Premium construction is much thicker and heavier than the Galaxy A40. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has a little bit better performance than Galaxy A40, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also has more RAM.
Xperia XZ2 Premium has a much better screen than Galaxy A40, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a way greater number of pixels per inch of display and a much higher resolution of 2160 x 3840px. Galaxy A40 features a little bit more storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory capacity, the Galaxy A40 also has a slot for an external memory card that admits up to 512 GB.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a much better camera than Galaxy A40, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not good for low light photos and videos, it also counts with a more mega-pixels camera, a much higher 3840x2160 video resolution and a bigger camera sensor shooting better quality pictures and videos.
The Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with just a little better battery performance than Samsung Galaxy A40, because it has a 3540mAh battery size against 3100mAh.
