Comparison review
The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE is a little bit better than the Galaxy A40, getting a score of 81.4 against 79.6. These phones have Android operating system, but Xiaomi Mi 9 SE has 9.0 Pie version while Galaxy A40 has Android 11. The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE construction is just a little thinner but a bit heavier than the Galaxy A40, and they were released with only a couple of months difference.
