Galaxy A40 has a score of 79.6, which is a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9's score of 76.6. Galaxy A40's construction is thinner and way lighter than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, despite of the fact that it was released around 14 months before. Both of these devices come with Android operating system, but Galaxy A40 has the newer 11 version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 has Android 10 version.
Samsung Galaxy A40 has a little more vivid screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have an equal 1080 x 2340 resolution, the Samsung Galaxy A40 also counts with a quite greater pixels density. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 counts with a bit better processor than Samsung Galaxy A40, although it has lesser RAM memory, they both have 8 cpu cores.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 features a better camera than Samsung Galaxy A40, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is worse for low light captures and video, and they both have the same 1920x1080 video definition and the same video frame rate, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 also counts with a much larger back-facing camera sensor providing a way better image quality and a back facing camera with a way better 48 mega-pixels resolution.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 has a much longer battery duration than Samsung Galaxy A40, because it has 5020mAh of battery capacity against 3100mAh.
