Galaxy A42 is a bit better than the Galaxy S5, getting a score of 87 against 80.8. These phones have Android operating system, but the Galaxy A42 has 11 version and Galaxy S5 has Android 4.4.2. Although Galaxy A42 is noticeably newer than Galaxy S5, it's way heavier and a little thicker. The Galaxy S5 counts with just a bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy A42, because although it has an inferior number of cores and 1 GB lesser RAM memory, it also counts with a graphics processing unit.
Galaxy S5 features a much sharper screen than Galaxy A42, because although it has a way smaller screen, it also counts with a better 1920 x 1080 resolution and a way better quantity of pixels per inch of display. Galaxy A42 features a better camera than Samsung Galaxy S5, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same (4K) video resolution, the Galaxy A42 also has a larger aperture to take better low-light images and video and a camera in the back with lot more mega pixels.
