Galaxy Alpha has a global score of 76.3, which is a little bit better than Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017)'s 75.8 overall score. The Galaxy Alpha body is way lighter and somewhat thinner than the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017). The Galaxy Alpha has a bit sharper screen than Galaxy A5 (2017), although it has a way worse 1280 x 720px resolution, a bit smaller display and a way lower display density.
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) counts with a much greater memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same 32 GB internal storage capacity, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) also has an external SD slot that supports a maximum of 256 GB. Galaxy Alpha features just a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), because although it has lesser RAM and an inferior number of cores (although faster), it also counts with an additional graphics processing unit.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) features a much better battery lifetime than Galaxy Alpha, because it has a 3000mAh battery size. Galaxy Alpha takes slightly better pictures and videos than Galaxy A5 (2017), because although it has a back facing camera with a way worse 12 mega pixels resolution and a tinier camera aperture which is not nice for capturing images in poorly lited situations, it also counts with a way better 3840x2160 video quality.
