Comparison review
Galaxy A51 is just a bit better than Google Pixel 2 XL, getting an 85.5 score against 82.5. The Galaxy A51 construction has the same thickness than Google Pixel 2 XL, but it is just a bit lighter. The Google Pixel 2 XL features a bit better looking display than Galaxy A51, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a better resolution of 1440 x 2880 and a better screen pixel density.
Samsung Galaxy A51 counts with much more storage to store more games and applications than Google Pixel 2 XL, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory, the Samsung Galaxy A51 also has a SD memory slot that holds up to 512 GB. Google Pixel 2 XL features a processing unit that is just as good as the processor in Samsung Galaxy A51, both of them have 8 cores and a 4 GB RAM.
Samsung Galaxy A51 has a bit better battery lifetime than Google Pixel 2 XL, because it has a 4000mAh battery size. The Galaxy A51 takes much better videos and photos than Google Pixel 2 XL, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not favorable for low light photos and video, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same (4K) video definition, the Galaxy A51 also counts with a back facing camera with a way higher resolution and a lot bigger back camera sensor.
Although Samsung Galaxy A51 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Google Pixel 2 XL, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Google Pixel 2 XL. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get the Google Pixel 2 XL, and give up a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
