The Galaxy M40 has a global score of 85, which is much better than Galaxy A54 5G's 73.4 score. These phones work with Android OS, but the Galaxy M40 has the older 10 version and Galaxy A54 5G has Android 13. Galaxy M40 has a way better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy A54 5G.
