The Galaxy XCover 5 has a general score of 78.1, which is a little bit better than the Galaxy A7 (2016)'s 72.8 score. Even though Galaxy XCover 5 is much newer than Galaxy A7 (2016), it is a bit heavier and somewhat thicker. Galaxy XCover 5 features just a little better performance than Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016), and although they both have 8 cores, the Galaxy XCover 5 also has a greater amount of RAM.

The Galaxy A7 (2016) has a little bit better display than Galaxy XCover 5, because it has a better 1080 x 1920 resolution, a better number of pixels per inch in the screen and a bit bigger screen. The Galaxy XCover 5 has a way bigger storage for apps and games than Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016), because it has a slot for an external memory card that supports a maximum of 1 TB and 64 GB internal storage.

The Galaxy A7 (2016) features a bit better battery performance than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, because it has 3300mAh of battery capacity instead of 3000mAh. The Galaxy XCover 5 captures just a bit better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016), and although they both have the same video quality and the same video frame rates, the Galaxy XCover 5 also has a larger aperture to capture better captures and videos in poorly lited situations and a camera with a better resolution.
