Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy A42 has a score of 87, which is just a bit better than Galaxy A8 (2018)'s 79.2 overall score. The Samsung Galaxy A42 body is a lot newer than Galaxy A8 (2018)'s, but it is somewhat heavier and just a bit thicker. The Galaxy A42 and Galaxy A8 (2018) have really similar processing units, both of them have 8 processing cores and a 4 GB RAM.
Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) counts with a much better looking display than Galaxy A42, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a way higher 1080 x 2220 pixels resolution and a lot greater pixel quantity per inch in the display. Galaxy A42 features a much greater memory to store more apps and games than Galaxy A8 (2018), because it has 128 GB internal storage capacity and an external memory slot that allows up to 1000 GB.
The Samsung Galaxy A42 takes a lot better photographs and videos than Galaxy A8 (2018), because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not favorable for shooting photos and/or video in low light environments, it also counts with a lot better 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a back facing camera with lot more MP.
The Galaxy A42 counts with a superior battery life than Galaxy A8 (2018), because it has a 5000mAh battery capacity.
