Sony Xperia XA2 Plus has a general score of 78.6, which is a little bit better than the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016)'s 74.9 overall score. The Sony Xperia XA2 Plus design is noticeably newer than the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016)'s, although it is a lot thicker and a little bit heavier. The Xperia XA2 Plus features a little more vivid display than Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016), and although they both have a screen of the same size, the Xperia XA2 Plus also has a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2160 and a just a bit higher pixel number per inch in the screen.

Xperia XA2 Plus features a little better processing power than Galaxy A9 (2016), and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Xperia XA2 Plus also has a larger amount of RAM. Xperia XA2 Plus has a much bigger storage to install applications and games than Galaxy A9 (2016), because it has a slot for an external memory card that holds a maximum of 400 GB and 64 GB internal memory.

The Xperia XA2 Plus shoots a bit better pictures and videos than Galaxy A9 (2016), because although it has a tinier aperture which is not recommended for low light photography and videos, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution and the same video frame rates, the Xperia XA2 Plus also counts with a much more megapixels back camera.

Galaxy A9 (2016) has just a little bit longer battery life than Xperia XA2 Plus, because it has a 12% greater battery size.
