Xperia XZ Premium is a bit better than the Galaxy A9 (2016), with a 79.8 score against 74.9. Xperia XZ Premium's body is newer and a little lighter than the Galaxy A9 (2016)'s, but it's also just a little thicker. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium has a much more vibrant screen than Galaxy A9 (2016), because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a lot better resolution of 2160 x 3840 and a way greater display pixels density.

The Xperia XZ Premium has just a little better processing power than Galaxy A9 (2016), and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia XZ Premium also has a greater amount of RAM. Xperia XZ Premium has just a bit better camera than Galaxy A9 (2016), because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not good for low-light captures and videos, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same video quality, the Xperia XZ Premium also counts with a back camera with much more megapixels.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium features a much better storage to store more apps and games than Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016), because it has a SD extension slot that admits a maximum of 256 GB and more internal storage capacity. The Galaxy A9 (2016) has improved battery duration than Sony Xperia XZ Premium, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.
