The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is just a bit better than the Galaxy Alpha, with a 78.7 score against 76.3. Even being the best cellphone we are comparing here, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro body is thicker and way heavier than Galaxy Alpha. Both devices in this comparison review come with Android OS, but the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has the newer 8.0 Oreo version while Galaxy Alpha has Android 4.4.4 version, counting with a couple additional features and some performance improvements.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a CPU that's very similar to the processing unit in Galaxy Alpha, because although the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has doesn't have a GPU, it also counts with more RAM and a higher number of cores. Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a little sharper display than Galaxy Alpha, because it has a larger screen, a lot better screen density and a way better 1440 x 2560 resolution.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a much bigger memory capacity to store more apps and games than Galaxy Alpha, because it has 128 GB internal memory. Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a superior battery performance than Galaxy Alpha, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity. Huawei Mate 9 Pro takes clearer pictures and videos than Galaxy Alpha. Both of them have the same aperture, the same 3840x2160 video definition, the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same resolution back facing camera.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Galaxy Alpha, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy Alpha. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Huawei Mate 9 Pro, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy Alpha, letting go some specs and features.
