Moto Z3 Play has an overall score of 76.3, which is just a bit better than the Galaxy Alpha's 76.3 score. The Moto Z3 Play construction is just a little thicker and extremely heavier than the Galaxy Alpha. Galaxy Alpha features just a bit better performance than Motorola Moto Z3 Play, because although it has an inferior number of cores and a smaller amount of RAM, it also counts with an extra GPU.
Galaxy Alpha features a bit more vivid screen than Moto Z3 Play, although it has a lot smaller display, a just a bit inferior pixels count per inch in the screen and a lot lower 1280 x 720px resolution. The Moto Z3 Play has a way bigger memory to store more apps and games than Galaxy Alpha, because it has a SD extension slot that admits up to 1,95 TB and 64 GB internal storage capacity.
The Moto Z3 Play features a superior battery duration than Galaxy Alpha, because it has a 3000mAh battery size. Moto Z3 Play takes clearer photos and videos than Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the same video frame rate and a same resolution back facing camera, the Moto Z3 Play also has a much bigger aperture to capture better photography and video in low-light situations.
Although Moto Z3 Play is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Galaxy Alpha, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy Alpha. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can buy the Galaxy Alpha, letting go some specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your money.
