The Galaxy M40 is much better than the Galaxy Alpha, with an 85 score against 76.3. Both of these phones use Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy M40 has the older 10 version while Galaxy Alpha has Android 4.4.4 version. The Galaxy M40 is a thicker and much heavier phone than the Galaxy Alpha.
Galaxy Alpha features a little bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy M40, because although it has a lower number of cores (although faster) and a smaller amount of RAM, it also counts with an extra graphics processing unit. Samsung Galaxy Alpha features a bit better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy M40, although it has a way worse resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, a little lower pixel count in each inch of display and a really smaller display.
The Galaxy M40 counts with much more storage capacity to store more games and applications than Galaxy Alpha, because it has more internal storage capacity and an external memory card slot that admits up to 512 GB. Galaxy M40 has a much better camera than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Galaxy M40 also has a way larger aperture and a way more MP back facing camera.
The Samsung Galaxy M40 counts with a much longer battery performance than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has 3500mAh of battery capacity.
