The Galaxy S5 has an overall score of 80.8, which is slightly better than the Galaxy Alpha's 76.3 overall score. The Galaxy S5 design is somewhat thicker and a lot heavier than Galaxy Alpha. These devices work with Android operating system, but the Galaxy S5 has the older 4.4.2 version while Galaxy Alpha has Android 4.4.4.

The Galaxy S5 features a bit better processor than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have a Quad-Core CPU, the Galaxy S5 also has 1 GB more RAM and a faster graphics processing unit running at 500 megahertz. Samsung Galaxy S5 has a brighter display than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has a much better 1920 x 1080 resolution, a little bigger display and way more pixels per display inch.

Samsung Galaxy S5 features a little bit better camera than Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the same aperture and the same video frame rate, the Samsung Galaxy S5 also has a much more MP back camera. Galaxy S5 has much more memory for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have equal internal memory, the Galaxy S5 also has a slot for external memory cards that holds up to 128 GB.

Galaxy S5 has a very superior battery performance than Galaxy Alpha, because it has 2800mAh of battery capacity.

The Galaxy S5 is more expensive than Galaxy Alpha, but you can get a better phone for that few extra dollars.
