Comparison review

The Galaxy S6 Edge is much better than the Galaxy Alpha, getting a overall score of 85.7 against 76.3. The Galaxy S6 Edge is a heavier and just a little bit thicker phone than the Galaxy Alpha. Both of these phones have Android OS, but the Galaxy S6 Edge has a more recent 5.0 version while Galaxy Alpha has Android 4.4.4 version.

The Galaxy S6 Edge has a bit faster CPU than Galaxy Alpha, because it has a larger number of cores (but slower), 1 GB more RAM, a 64-bit processing unit and a better GPU running at 650 megahertz. The Galaxy S6 Edge features a more vivid screen than Galaxy Alpha, because it has a bit larger display, a lot better amount of pixels per screen inch and a lot better resolution of 2560 x 1440.

Galaxy Alpha captures better photos and videos than Galaxy S6 Edge, although it has a lot less mega-pixels back facing camera, a smaller aperture which is not good for shooting photos in poorly lited situations and a worse 3840x2160 (4K) video quality. The Galaxy S6 Edge counts with a lot bigger memory to store more games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has 128 GB internal memory capacity.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge features a way better battery performance than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has a 2600mAh battery capacity.

Although Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy Alpha, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy Alpha. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy the Galaxy Alpha, and give up a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your money.
