Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 is a bit better than the Galaxy Alpha, having a 78.1 score against 76.3. Both devices in this review use Android operating system, but the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 has older 11 version and Galaxy Alpha has Android 4.4.4 version. Although it's the best device in this review, Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 is a noticeably thicker and noticeably heavier device than Galaxy Alpha.
The Galaxy Alpha features a little bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, because although it has an inferior number of cores (although they are faster) and less RAM, it also counts with an additional graphics processing unit. The Galaxy Alpha features a better looking screen than Galaxy XCover 5, because although it has a bit lower 1280 x 720px resolution and a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a just a bit greater pixels density.
Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 features a lot bigger memory for games and applications than Galaxy Alpha, because it has 64 GB internal memory capacity and a SD memory slot that allows a maximum of 1 TB. The Galaxy XCover 5 features a much longer battery performance than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has a 61 percent larger battery size.
Galaxy Alpha takes a little bit better videos and photos than Galaxy XCover 5, because although it has a way worse 12 mega pixels resolution camera in the back and a smaller aperture which is worse for shooting pictures or videos in low-light environments, it also counts with a way higher video definition.
