Comparison review

Xperia 5 II is much better than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, having an 87.2 score against 76.3. Despite being the best cellphone in this comparison review, Xperia 5 II is a thicker and noticeably heavier cellphone than Samsung Galaxy Alpha. The Sony Xperia 5 II counts with a bit better processing unit than Galaxy Alpha, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processing unit, it also counts with a greater number of cores and 6 GB more RAM.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha and Xperia 5 II have quite similar displays, although the Xperia 5 II also has a larger screen, a greater number of pixels per inch in the screen and a lot higher resolution of 1080 x 2520px. The Xperia 5 II features a much greater memory to install applications and games than Galaxy Alpha, because it has 96 GB more internal memory and a slot for SD memory cards that supports up to 1000 GB.

Xperia 5 II captures much clearer photos and videos than Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality and the same resolution back camera, the Xperia 5 II also has a way larger diafragm aperture to take better low-light captures and video and higher video frame rates.

The Xperia 5 II has a really longer battery performance than Galaxy Alpha, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity against 1860mAh.

Although Xperia 5 II is a better device, it costs a lot more than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Samsung Galaxy Alpha. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and give up a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
