Samsung Galaxy Fold has a general score of 97.6, which is better than the Galaxy Note8's 83 overall score. These phones have the same Android 9.0 Pie OS. Samsung Galaxy Fold's construction is noticeably newer and way thinner than the Galaxy Note8's, although it is also extremely heavier. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a slightly better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy Fold, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better number of pixels per inch in the display and a slightly higher resolution of 1440 x 2960.
Samsung Galaxy Fold features a bit more powerful processor than Samsung Galaxy Note8, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy Fold also has a higher amount of RAM. The Galaxy Fold has just a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy Note8, and although they both have a same resolution camera in the back, a 0.39 inches sensor and the same (4K) video resolution, the Galaxy Fold also has a bigger diafragm aperture to capture better low light images and video and faster 60 frames per second video frame rate.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold features a superior memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy Note8, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with 512 GB internal storage. The Galaxy Fold has better battery life than Galaxy Note8, because it has a 33 percent bigger battery size.
Although Samsung Galaxy Fold is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Samsung Galaxy Note8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Samsung Galaxy Note8. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Fold, else you can save some money and buy the Samsung Galaxy Note8, resigning a couple features and specs.
