Both phones in this review work with Android OS (Operating System), but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has the previous 8.0 Oreo version and Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) has Android 9.0 Pie version. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro's design weights the same than the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017), but it is a little bit thicker.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has a little bit better screen than Galaxy J7 (2017), because it has a little bit bigger display, a slightly higher 1080 x 2160 resolution and a little more pixels per screen inch. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro counts with much more storage to install games and applications than Galaxy J7 (2017), because although it has a SD memory slot that allows 128 GB smaller, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory capacity.
