Comparison review
Galaxy A5 (2017) has a general score of 75.8, which is a bit better than the Galaxy J7 (2018)'s 72.5 general score. Even though Galaxy A5 (2017) is older than Galaxy J7 (2018), it's construction is just a little bit thinner and lighter. The Galaxy A5 (2017) features a bit faster CPU than Galaxy J7 (2018), and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Galaxy A5 (2017) also has a higher amount of RAM memory.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) features a better display than Samsung Galaxy J7 (2018), because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a way higher resolution of 1080 x 1920px and much more pixels per inch in the screen. Galaxy A5 (2017) shoots clearer photos and videos than Galaxy J7 (2018), because although it has a smaller aperture which is not nice for low-light images and video, and they both have the same video quality and the same 30 fps video frame rates, the Galaxy A5 (2017) also counts with a back facing camera with a better 16 megapixels resolution.
Galaxy J7 (2018) counts with a little bit more memory capacity to install games and applications than Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), and although they both have equal 32 GB internal storage, the Galaxy J7 (2018) also has a slot for an SD memory card that allows a maximum of 400 GB.
