The Galaxy S4 has a global score of 79, which is a bit better than Galaxy J7 Max's general score of 76.1. Both phones in this comparison review work with Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy S4 has the previous 4.4 version while Galaxy J7 Max has Android 7.0 Nougat. The Galaxy S4 construction is just a bit thinner and way lighter than the Galaxy J7 Max, even though it was released 4 years before.

Samsung Galaxy S4 features a more vivid display than Galaxy J7 Max, because although it has a bit smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1920 x 1080px, the Samsung Galaxy S4 also counts with a little more pixels per screen inch. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Max counts with a bit better CPU than Samsung Galaxy S4, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, it also counts with 4 more cores and a greater amount of RAM memory.

Galaxy S4's camera is very similar to Samsung Galaxy J7 Max's camera, and although the Galaxy S4 has a much smaller diafragm aperture which is not nice for capturing photographs in low light situations, they both have the same video resolution, a 13 mega pixels resolution camera in the back and the same 30 fps video frame rates.

The Galaxy S4 has just a bit bigger storage capacity to store more apps and games than Galaxy J7 Max, because although it has an external SD slot that admits up to 64 GB against 256 GB, it also counts with 64 GB internal memory capacity. The Galaxy J7 Max has greater battery life than Samsung Galaxy S4, because it has a 3300mAh battery capacity instead of 2600mAh.
