The Galaxy J8 has a global score of 76.7, which is slightly better than Galaxy J7 Prime 2's 75.3 score. Even being the best cellphone in this review, the Galaxy J8 construction is just a little heavier and a little thicker than Galaxy J7 Prime 2. Both devices we are comparing use Android operating system, but Galaxy J8 has 10 version and Galaxy J7 Prime 2 has Android 9.0 Pie version.
Galaxy J7 Prime 2 counts with a little bit better looking screen than Galaxy J8, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a higher resolution of 1080 x 1920 and a greater pixel density. The Samsung Galaxy J8 has much more memory for applications and games than Galaxy J7 Prime 2, and although they both have a slot for SD memory cards that admits up to 256 GB, the Samsung Galaxy J8 also has more internal memory.
Samsung Galaxy J8 has just a bit better hardware performance than Galaxy J7 Prime 2, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy J8 also has 1 GB more RAM memory. Galaxy J8 features a bit better camera than Galaxy J7 Prime 2, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same (Full HD) video definition, the Galaxy J8 also has a camera in the back with a higher resolution, a bigger camera aperture to take better low-light photography and videos and a bigger camera sensor.
