The Galaxy S6 Edge has a general score of 85.7, which is better than Samsung Galaxy J7 Star's 73.1 score. Even though the Galaxy S6 Edge is a lot older than the Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, it's construction is lighter and somewhat thinner. Both phones in this review come with Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy S6 Edge has 5.0 version while Samsung Galaxy J7 Star has Android 9.0 Pie version.

Galaxy S6 Edge has a faster processing unit than Galaxy J7 Star, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Galaxy S6 Edge also has a greater amount of RAM, an extra GPU and a 64 bits processor. The Galaxy S6 Edge counts with a lot better screen than Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a much higher 2560 x 1440 resolution and a lot higher pixel count per inch in the screen.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Star has just a bit better camera than Galaxy S6 Edge, because although it has a way lower 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality, a tinier back-facing camera sensor providing a lower image quality and a lower 13 mega pixels resolution back camera, it also counts with a larger aperture.

The Galaxy S6 Edge features slightly more memory capacity for games and applications than Galaxy J7 Star, because although it has no SD extension slot, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. Galaxy J7 Star counts with greater battery performance than Galaxy S6 Edge, because it has 3300mAh of battery capacity against 2600mAh.

Although Galaxy S6 Edge is a better device, it is way more expensive than Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Samsung Galaxy J7 Star. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Galaxy S6 Edge, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, letting go some specifications.
