Comparison review
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact is slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, getting a general score of 79 against 73.1. Both phones in our current comparison use Android OS, but the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact has older 8.0 Oreo version and Samsung Galaxy J7 Star has Android 9.0 Pie version. The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact body is a bit lighter but way thicker than Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, and they were only released 3 months apart.
Xperia XZ2 Compact has a much more vibrant display than Galaxy J7 Star, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a much higher 1080 x 2160px resolution and a way higher display density. Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact counts with a lot bigger memory to store more games and applications than Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, and although they both have a SD memory card expansion slot that allows up to 400 GB, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact also has 64 GB internal storage.
Xperia XZ2 Compact has a little faster CPU than Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Xperia XZ2 Compact also has a larger amount of RAM memory. Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact features a much better camera than Galaxy J7 Star, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not recommended for low-light captures and videos, it also counts with a way better (4K) video quality, a much larger camera sensor and a back-facing camera with a much better 19 megapixels resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Star features just a little better battery performance than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has a 3300mAh battery size instead of 2870mAh.
