Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is a bit better than the Galaxy J7 Star, getting a 77.5 score against 73.1. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 body is somewhat thinner than the Galaxy J7 Star, but it's heavier and was released only 14 months before. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a bit superior processing unit than Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 also has more RAM memory.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a little more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, because it has a lot higher 1080 x 1920 resolution, a larger screen and a higher pixel count in each inch of display. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 shoots a bit better videos and photos than Galaxy J7 Star, because although it has a back camera with lesser MP and a lot tinier camera aperture which is not recommended for taking photos or videos in low-light environments, it also counts with a lot better 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and a bigger back-facing camera sensor which offers a higher image and video quality.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 counts with a much greater storage to install applications and games than Galaxy J7 Star, because although it has an external memory card slot that allows 272 GB smaller, it also counts with 96 GB more internal storage. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a superior battery life than Galaxy J7 Star, because it has 5300mAh of battery capacity against 3300mAh.

Although Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy J7 Star, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy J7 Star. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, otherwise you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy J7 Star, resigning some features and specs.
