Comparison review
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has a general score of 79, which is just a bit better than Galaxy J7 Star's 73.1 overall score. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S's body is newer, but just a little bit thicker and somewhat heavier than the Galaxy J7 Star. Both phones in our current comparison come with Android OS, but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has the previous 11 version and Galaxy J7 Star has Android 9.0 Pie.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S counts with a brighter display than Galaxy J7 Star, because it has a lot better 1080 x 2400 resolution, a higher screen density and a larger display. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S features a much bigger storage to store more apps and games than Galaxy J7 Star, because it has more internal memory and a slot for SD memory cards that allows up to 512 GB.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has a little bit better processing power than Galaxy J7 Star, and although they both have 8 cores, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S also has 2 GB more RAM. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has a really longer battery performance than Galaxy J7 Star, because it has a 5020mAh battery size. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has a very superior camera than Galaxy J7 Star, because although it has a tinier aperture, it also counts with a lot better resolution camera in the back, a much better (4K) video resolution and a way larger sensor taking more light and vivid colors.
Although Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S is a better device, it is way more expensive than Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung Galaxy J7 Star. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, resigning some features and specs.
