Comparison review
The LG Velvet is better than the Samsung Galaxy J8, having an 87.1 score against 76.7. The LG Velvet body is newer and just a little thinner than the Samsung Galaxy J8's, but it is also just a little heavier. The LG Velvet has a more vivid display than Samsung Galaxy J8, because it has more pixels per inch of display, a much higher 1080 x 2460 resolution and a little bit larger display.
LG Velvet features a little better processing power than Galaxy J8, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the LG Velvet also has a higher amount of RAM memory. LG Velvet features a much bigger memory capacity to install applications and games than Galaxy J8, because it has more internal memory and a SD extension slot that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB.
The LG Velvet captures greater photographs and videos than Galaxy J8, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not recommended for capturing images in low light situations, it also counts with a lot higher 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, a way bigger back-facing camera sensor shooting way higher quality videos and photographs and a back camera with a much better resolution.
The LG Velvet counts with better battery life than Samsung Galaxy J8, because it has a 23% more battery capacity.
