The Samsung Galaxy J8 has a general score of 76.7, which is a bit better than Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017)'s 75.8 general score. Although the Samsung Galaxy J8 is newer than Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), it's heavier and a little thicker. Galaxy A5 (2017) features a little bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy J8, although it has lesser RAM, they both have the same number of cores.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) counts with a much better looking screen than Galaxy J8, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a way higher display pixels density and a better 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The Samsung Galaxy J8 features a bit better camera than Galaxy A5 (2017), and although they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates, a 16 megapixels resolution camera in the back and the same 1920x1080 video quality, the Samsung Galaxy J8 also has a larger camera aperture to capture better photos in low light situations.

Samsung Galaxy J8 counts with a superior storage capacity to install applications and games than Galaxy A5 (2017), and although they both have a SD memory slot that holds a maximum of 256 GB, the Samsung Galaxy J8 also has 32 GB more internal memory.
