The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact has an overall score of 79, which is slightly better than Galaxy J8's global score of 76.7. Even though Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact and Galaxy J8 were released with only a few months difference, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact design is just a little bit lighter but noticeably thicker. Both of these devices work with Android OS (operating system), but Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact has newer 8.0 Oreo version and Galaxy J8 has Android 10, offering a couple nice extra features.

Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact has just a little better processing power than Galaxy J8. They have 4 GB of RAM and a Octa-Core processor. The Xperia XZ2 Compact features a much sharper screen than Galaxy J8, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a way better resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and a way better display pixels density.

The Xperia XZ2 Compact features a slightly better storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy J8, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal memory capacity, the Xperia XZ2 Compact also has a slot for external memory cards that admits a maximum of 400 GB.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact shoots better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy J8, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not favorable for capturing photos or video in low light situations, it also counts with a larger camera sensor capturing better quality videos and photos, a much higher 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and a camera in the back with more mega-pixels.

Samsung Galaxy J8 features longer battery life than Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has a 3500mAh battery size instead of 2870mAh.
