The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has an overall score of 83, which is much better than the Galaxy M01's 74.7 score. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 construction is thinner than Galaxy M01, but it's heavier and was released 3 years before. Both devices in this review include Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy Note8 has 9.0 Pie version while Galaxy M01 has Android 11 version, so it provides some additional features.

Galaxy Note8 counts with a little bit better hardware performance than Galaxy M01, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Galaxy Note8 also has 3 GB more RAM. Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a much better screen than Samsung Galaxy M01, because it has a little bit bigger screen, a lot more pixels per display inch and a much higher resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 features a little bit more storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy M01, because although it has a slot for an external memory card that admits 256 GB smaller, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. The Galaxy Note8 shoots a bit better photos and videos than Galaxy M01, because although it has a worse resolution back camera, it also counts with a bigger back-facing camera sensor which offers a higher image and video quality, a lot larger aperture to take better photography and videos in poorly lited environments and a much higher (4K) video quality.

The Galaxy M01 counts with superior battery performance than Galaxy Note8, because it has a 21% greater battery size.
