Comparison review
Galaxy M40 has an overall score of 85, which is a little bit better than the Huawei P40 Lite's global score of 79.5. These phones have the same Android 10 operating system. The Galaxy M40 body is just a little bit thinner and a little bit lighter than the Huawei P40 Lite, even though both were released only a couple months apart.
Galaxy M40 and Huawei P40 Lite count with quite similar screens, because although the Huawei P40 Lite has a little bit worse display density and a little bit lower resolution of 1080 x 2310, it also counts with a little bit bigger display. The Huawei P40 Lite features a bit more powerful processing unit than Galaxy M40. Both have the same number of cores and a 6 GB RAM.
The Galaxy M40 features a much better storage for apps and games than Huawei P40 Lite, and although they both have equal 128 GB internal storage capacity, the Galaxy M40 also has a SD memory card expansion slot that supports up to 512 GB. The Huawei P40 Lite has superior battery lifetime than Galaxy M40, because it has a 4200mAh battery size against 3500mAh.
The Huawei P40 Lite captures a bit better photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy M40, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not favorable for low light photography and video, and they both have the same (Full HD) video quality and the same video frame rate, the Huawei P40 Lite also counts with a way more mega pixels camera and a way larger back-facing camera sensor which provides a lot better photo and video quality.
