The Galaxy M40 has a general score of 85, which is slightly better than Sony Xperia 1's 82.6 score. Even when Galaxy M40 and Sony Xperia 1 were released only a couple of months apart, Galaxy M40 is a little thinner and a little bit lighter. Xperia 1 features just a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy M40. They have the same RAM memory amount and a Octa-Core processor.
The Xperia 1 features a better looking screen than Galaxy M40, because it has a bit larger screen, a lot more pixels per inch of screen and a lot better 1644 x 3840 resolution. Galaxy M40 shoots much clearer pictures and videos than Xperia 1, because although it has a tinier sensor taking less light and dull colors and a smaller aperture, and they both have the same (4K) video quality, the Galaxy M40 also counts with faster 30 frames per second video frame rate and a camera in the back with a much higher 32 megapixels resolution.
Xperia 1's memory to store more apps and games is just as good as Samsung Galaxy M40's one, both of them have equal 128 GB internal memory capacity and a slot for external memory cards that holds a maximum of 512 GB. Galaxy M40 has just a bit better battery performance than Xperia 1, because it has a 5% more battery size.
