The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is better than the Galaxy A42, getting a 98.9 score against 87. Galaxy Note 20 Ultra's construction is just a little thinner but a little heavier than the Galaxy A42, and both of them were only released with a few months difference. Both phones in this review come with Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has the newer 13 version and Galaxy A42 has Android 11, so it provides the user some extra features.
Galaxy Note 20 Ultra counts with a bit faster processor than Galaxy A42, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra also has a higher amount of RAM. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has a way better looking display than Galaxy A42, because it has a lot better resolution of 1440 x 3088px, a way greater pixel density and a little bit bigger display.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra counts with a way better camera than Samsung Galaxy A42, and although they both have the same diafragm aperture, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra also has a back-facing camera with a way better 108 MP resolution and a lot higher video definition. Galaxy A42 and Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra feature quite similar storage for applications, games, photos and videos, both have a slot for an external memory card that admits a maximum of 1000 GB and exactly the same internal memory capacity.
Samsung Galaxy A42 counts with a bit superior battery life than Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, because it has an 11 percent more battery capacity.
