The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a general score of 83, which is a little bit better than the Galaxy Note 3's 81.2 general score. Both phones in this review come with Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a newer 9.0 Pie version and Galaxy Note 3 has Android 5.0, so it provides you a couple nice extra features and performance enhancements. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 design is notably newer than Galaxy Note 3's, but it's just a little thicker and somewhat heavier.
Galaxy Note 3 has a little bit better display than Samsung Galaxy Note8, although it has a much lower 1920 x 1080 resolution, a bit smaller display and a way lower pixel quantity per inch in the screen. Galaxy Note8 has a bit more powerful processing unit than Galaxy Note 3, because although it has doesn't have a graphics co-processor, it also counts with more RAM memory and more CPU cores.
The Galaxy Note8 features a bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy Note 3, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory, the Galaxy Note8 also has an external SD slot that supports up to 256 GB. Galaxy Note8 has a bit superior battery life than Galaxy Note 3, because it has 3300mAh of battery capacity instead of 3200mAh.
The Galaxy Note8 captures slightly better videos and photos than Galaxy Note 3, because although it has a worse 3840x2160 video definition and a lower resolution back facing camera, it also counts with a bigger sensor taking higher quality pictures and videos and a lot larger diafragm aperture to capture better captures and video in low light environments.
Although Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Galaxy Note 3, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy Note 3. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy the Galaxy Note 3, letting go a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most with your savings.
