Comparison review
Galaxy Note 3 has a score of 81.2, which is a little bit better than Galaxy S6 Active's score of 80.9. Both of these devices use the same Android 5.0 OS, so you shouldn't perceive any differences in that aspect. Samsung Galaxy S6 Active features just a bit better processing power than Galaxy Note 3, and although they both have a 3 GB RAM, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active also has a much better GPU, more processing cores and a 64 bits processor.
The Galaxy S6 Active counts with a much better looking display than Galaxy Note 3, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a better resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a better pixel density. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 shoots better videos and photos than Galaxy S6 Active, although it has a lower 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, a worse 13 mega pixels resolution back facing camera, a smaller back camera sensor which gives a worse image and video quality and a smaller diafragm aperture.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 counts with a very superior memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy S6 Active, because it has 64 GB internal storage. Galaxy S6 Active features just a little better battery duration than Samsung Galaxy Note 3, because it has 3500mAh of battery capacity instead of 3200mAh.
Although Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is a better device, it costs a little more than the Galaxy S6 Active, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy S6 Active. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get Galaxy S6 Active, giving up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your money.
