Comparison review

Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a score of 83, which is a bit better than Galaxy Note 4's 81.6 overall score. These devices have Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy Note8 has 9.0 Pie version while Galaxy Note 4 has Android 5.0 version, so it provides lots of additional features. Samsung Galaxy Note8's design is notably newer than Galaxy Note 4's, but it is just a little thicker and just a bit heavier.

Galaxy Note 4 counts with a bit more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy Note8, although it has a quite worse display pixel density, a bit lower 2560 x 1440px resolution and a quite smaller display. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 counts with just a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because although it has 4 lesser processing cores and lesser RAM, it also counts with an extra graphics processing unit.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 features just a bit better camera than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a smaller back camera sensor which offers a lower photo and video quality and a much tinier aperture which is not good for capturing photos and video in low light situations, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 also counts with a camera in the back with much more megapixels.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a much better memory capacity to store more apps and games than Galaxy Note 4, because it has 64 GB internal storage and a SD card slot that allows a maximum of 256 GB. The Galaxy Note8 counts with just a little better battery performance than Samsung Galaxy Note 4, because it has a 3300mAh battery capacity against 3220mAh.

Although Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Galaxy Note 4, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy Note 4. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Note8, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Galaxy Note 4, resigning some specs and features.
