Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition is just a bit better than the Google Pixel 3a XL, with a global score of 80.4 against 78.9. Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition's construction has the same weight than Google Pixel 3a XL, but it's just a little bit thinner. Galaxy Note Fan Edition has a bit sharper display than Google Pixel 3a XL, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with more pixels per screen inch and a higher resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition has a bit better processing power than Google Pixel 3a XL. Both have a Octa-Core CPU and the same RAM amount. Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition has much more memory capacity for apps and games than Google Pixel 3a XL, and although they both have the same internal storage, the Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition also has a slot for an SD memory card that admits a maximum of 256 GB.
The Google Pixel 3a XL has just a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not good for low-light captures and video and a tinier sensor capturing lower quality photos, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Google Pixel 3a XL also counts with a better 12.2 mega pixels resolution camera.
Google Pixel 3a XL counts with a bit superior battery lifetime than Galaxy Note Fan Edition, because it has 3700mAh of battery capacity instead of 3200mAh.
Although Galaxy Note Fan Edition is a better device, it costs a lot more than Google Pixel 3a XL, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Google Pixel 3a XL. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Galaxy Note Fan Edition, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Google Pixel 3a XL, giving up a couple specs and features.
