Galaxy Note8 is just a bit better than the Google Pixel 3a XL, with a general score of 83 against 78.9. Galaxy Note8 is an older, somewhat heavier and just a bit thicker device than Google Pixel 3a XL. These phones have Android operating system, but the Galaxy Note8 has 9.0 Pie version while Google Pixel 3a XL has Android 11, providing you a lot of extra features.

Galaxy Note8 counts with a little faster processing unit than Google Pixel 3a XL, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy Note8 also has a higher amount of RAM memory. Galaxy Note8 has a bit more vivid display than Google Pixel 3a XL, because it has a greater pixels density, a quite larger screen and a higher 1440 x 2960 resolution.

Galaxy Note8 features a lot bigger memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Google Pixel 3a XL, and although they both have equal internal storage capacity, the Galaxy Note8 also has a slot for external memory cards that admits up to 256 GB. The Google Pixel 3a XL has a bit longer battery lifetime than Galaxy Note8, because it has a 12% larger battery capacity.

The Galaxy Note8 and the Google Pixel 3a XL both count with quite similar cameras, because although the Google Pixel 3a XL has a tinier diafragm aperture which is worse for low-light photos and video, and they both have the same back camera sensor size, the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same video quality, it also counts with a higher 12.2 MP resolution camera in the back.

Although Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Google Pixel 3a XL, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Google Pixel 3a XL. If you are trying to save some money, you can buy Google Pixel 3a XL, letting go a couple features, but you will get the most out of your budget.
