Comparison review

Galaxy Note8 is just a bit better than the LG V40 ThinQ, having a score of 83 against 81.2. Both phones we are comparing here use Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Note8 has a more recent 9.0 Pie version and LG V40 ThinQ has Android 10 version, offering some additional features and enhanced performance. Galaxy Note8 is an older, thicker and heavier cellphone than LG V40 ThinQ.

The LG V40 ThinQ has a bit sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because it has a quite better 1440 x 3120 resolution, a just a little greater pixel density and a bit bigger screen. The LG V40 ThinQ features just a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy Note8. Both of them have the same RAM memory amount and a Octa-Core CPU.

The LG V40 ThinQ shoots slightly better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because although it has a tinier sensor giving a worse image quality, and they both have the same (4K) video definition and a same resolution back facing camera, the LG V40 ThinQ also counts with a larger camera aperture to take better low light captures and videos and faster 60 fps video frame rates.

LG V40 ThinQ counts with a superior storage capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy Note8, and although they both have the same internal storage capacity, the LG V40 ThinQ also has a SD memory slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB. LG V40 ThinQ and Galaxy Note8 both count with very similar batteries.

Although Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than LG V40 ThinQ, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as LG V40 ThinQ. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy LG V40 ThinQ, letting go a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your savings.
