LG Velvet is slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy Note8, with a general score of 87.1 against 83. LG Velvet's construction is a lot newer, a little bit lighter and just a bit thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Note8. Galaxy Note8 has a bit better display than LG Velvet, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a higher pixel amount in each inch of display and a higher resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 and the LG Velvet have really similar processors, they have a 6 GB RAM and 8 CPU cores. LG Velvet counts with a better camera than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not favorable for low light photos and video, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition and the same 30 fps video frame rates, the LG Velvet also counts with a lot larger sensor and a back camera with way more mega pixels.
