The Galaxy Note8 has a score of 83, which is just a bit better than Galaxy A40's general score of 79.6. Galaxy Note8's construction is older, notably heavier and just a little thicker than Galaxy A40. Both devices we are comparing include Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy Note8 has the newer 9.0 Pie version and Galaxy A40 has Android 11, so it provides the user some additional features.
