Comparison review
The Galaxy Note8 is a bit better than Galaxy Alpha, getting a global score of 83 against 76.3. Both devices we are comparing here work with Android OS, but Galaxy Note8 has a more recent 9.0 Pie version and Galaxy Alpha has Android 4.4.4 version, so it gives a couple nice extra features and performance improvements. The Galaxy Note8 construction is way thicker and noticeably heavier than Galaxy Alpha.
Samsung Galaxy Alpha's CPU is very similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note8 one, because although the Samsung Galaxy Alpha has a lower amount of RAM and an inferior number of cores , it also counts with an additional graphics processing unit. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 features a bit sharper display than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has a lot higher amount of pixels per inch of display, a lot higher resolution of 1440 x 2960px and a much bigger display.
Galaxy Note8 shoots slightly better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, and although they both have the same video resolution, the same video frame rates and a 12 MP resolution camera in the back, the Galaxy Note8 also has a way larger aperture to take better images and video in low light situations.
The Galaxy Note8 features a way bigger memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Galaxy Alpha, because it has 64 GB internal storage and a SD extension slot that admits up to 256 GB. Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a superior battery performance than Galaxy Alpha, because it has 3300mAh of battery capacity against 1860mAh.
The Galaxy Note8 is more expensive than the Galaxy Alpha, but it's still a great choice, because you can get a lot more features for that extra money.
