The Galaxy Note8 has an overall score of 83, which is a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy S5's score of 80.8. The Galaxy Note8 is a notably newer cellphone than the Samsung Galaxy S5, but it's heavier and just a bit thicker. Both phones in this comparison review use Android operating system, but Galaxy Note8 has the newer 9.0 Pie version and Samsung Galaxy S5 has Android 4.4.2, so it offers a lot of extra features.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 features a much better looking screen than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a bit smaller display and a lot worse resolution of 1920 x 1080, it also counts with a little bit better pixels count in each display inch. Galaxy Note8 features a much better memory for games and applications than Galaxy S5, because it has 32 GB more internal storage capacity and a slot for SD memory cards that allows up to 256 GB.

Galaxy S5 has a bit better CPU than Galaxy Note8, because although it has less RAM memory and 4 lesser processing cores , it also counts with an additional graphics processing unit. The Galaxy S5 features just a bit better camera than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a smaller sensor which gives a worse image and video quality and a lot smaller diafragm aperture which is worse for taking photos and videos in low light environments, and they both have the same video frame rates and the same (4K) video definition, the Galaxy S5 also counts with a lot better 16 mega-pixels resolution back-facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 features greater battery lifetime than Galaxy S5, because it has an 18 percent larger battery capacity.

Galaxy Note8 costs a bit more money than Galaxy S5, but it's still a great choice, because you can get a lot more for that extra money.
