The Galaxy Note8 is just a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, with a global score of 83 against 78.1. These phones work with Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Note8 has 9.0 Pie version and Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus has Android 4.4.2 version, so it offers lots of additional features. Galaxy Note8 is a notably newer phone than Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, although it's incredibly heavier and a bit thicker.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus's CPU is just as good as Samsung Galaxy Note8's CPU, because although the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus has lesser RAM and a lower number of cores , it also counts with an extra graphics processing unit. The Galaxy S5 Plus counts with a bit more vivid screen than Galaxy Note8, although it has a lot lower resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a just a little worse display density and a bit smaller display.

Galaxy Note8 has a superior memory for applications and games than Galaxy S5 Plus, because it has 64 GB internal storage and an external SD slot that supports a maximum of 256 GB. Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus features a camera that's very similar to Samsung Galaxy Note8's camera, because although the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus has a smaller sensor taking worse quality videos and pictures and a lot tinier camera aperture, and they both have the same (4K) video quality and the same 30 frames per second video frame rates, it also counts with a much higher resolution back facing camera.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 features superior battery life than Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, because it has 3300mAh of battery capacity.

Although Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Galaxy S5 Plus, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy S5 Plus. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Note8, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy S5 Plus, resigning a couple specs and features.
