Galaxy Note8 has an overall score of 83, which is slightly better than the Galaxy S8 Active's 81.9 general score. The Galaxy Note8 construction is a little lighter and somewhat thinner than the Galaxy S8 Active, even though both were released with only 1 months difference. The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active features a little bit better display than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have an equal resolution of 1440 x 2960px, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active also counts with a little bit greater display pixel density.
The Galaxy Note8 counts with a little faster processor than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Galaxy Note8 also has a larger amount of RAM. Galaxy S8 Active counts with as much storage to store more apps and games as the Samsung Galaxy Note8, both of them have a slot for external memory cards that supports a maximum of 256 GB and exactly the same internal memory capacity.
The Galaxy S8 Active has longer battery life than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because it has a 21 percent larger battery capacity. Galaxy S8 Active's camera is very similar to the Galaxy Note8 one, both of them have the same video frame rate, a 12 MP resolution back-facing camera, the same 3840x2160 video quality, a F1.7 aperture and the same sensor size.
Although Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Galaxy S8 Active, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Galaxy S8 Active. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Note8, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Galaxy S8 Active, giving up some features and specifications.
