Samsung Galaxy Note8 is just a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, getting an 83 score against 78.1. Both of these phones come with Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Note8 has newer 9.0 Pie version and Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 has Android 11, counting with lots of additional features and performance optimizations. Despite of the fact the Samsung Galaxy Note8 is much older and somewhat heavier than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, it's body is still a little bit thinner.

Galaxy Note8 features a brighter screen than Galaxy XCover 5, because it has a way better number of pixels per inch in the screen, a much better resolution of 1440 x 2960 and a bigger display. Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 also has more RAM memory.

The Galaxy Note8 counts with a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, because although it has a lot worse 12 MP resolution back facing camera, it also counts with a lot higher 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a bigger aperture to capture better images and video in poorly lited situations.

The Galaxy XCover 5 features a lot bigger memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy Note8, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal storage, the Galaxy XCover 5 also has a slot for an external memory card that admits a maximum of 1 TB.

The Galaxy Note8 features a bit better battery life than Galaxy XCover 5, because it has 3300mAh of battery capacity instead of 3000mAh.
