Galaxy Note8 has a global score of 83, which is a little bit better than Xperia XA2 Plus's 78.6 general score. These phones use Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy Note8 has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Xperia XA2 Plus has Android 8.0 Oreo version. Despite of the fact that Galaxy Note8 is older than Xperia XA2 Plus, it's design is thinner and a little lighter.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a little more vivid display than Sony Xperia XA2 Plus, because it has a little larger screen, a better screen pixel density and a higher resolution of 1440 x 2960px. The Sony Xperia XA2 Plus counts with a bit bigger memory capacity to install applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Note8, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal memory, the Sony Xperia XA2 Plus also has a slot for an external memory card that supports up to 400 GB.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with just a bit better hardware performance than Sony Xperia XA2 Plus. Both have 6 GB of RAM memory and the same number of cores. The Xperia XA2 Plus features a bit better battery duration than Galaxy Note8, because it has an 8% greater battery capacity. The Xperia XA2 Plus takes a little bit better videos and photos than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not good for capturing images and/or video in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution and the same video frame rates, the Xperia XA2 Plus also counts with a larger camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors and a camera in the back with a lot better 23 mega-pixels resolution.
