Comparison review

Samsung Galaxy Note8 is slightly better than Xperia Z4v, getting an 83 score against 78.8. These devices come with Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy Note8 has newer 9.0 Pie version and Xperia Z4v has Android 5.1. Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a somewhat heavier device than Xperia Z4v, but both of them are 0.34inches thick.

Sony Xperia Z4v counts with a better looking screen than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a little bit smaller screen and a quite lower 2560 x 1440 resolution, it also counts with a quite higher screen density. The Xperia Z4v has just a little better hardware performance than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, and they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia Z4v also counts with an extra graphics processor.

The Galaxy Note8 counts with a much better memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Xperia Z4v, because it has a slot for external memory cards that allows up to 256 GB and 64 GB internal storage. The Xperia Z4v captures slightly better pictures and videos than Galaxy Note8, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is worse for capturing photographs in poorly lited situations, and they both have the same video frame rates and the same (4K) video resolution, the Xperia Z4v also counts with a larger back-facing camera sensor shooting higher quality videos and photos and a way more megapixels back camera.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 features a bit superior battery lifetime than Sony Xperia Z4v, because it has a 10 percent greater battery capacity.

Although Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Xperia Z4v, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Xperia Z4v. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get Xperia Z4v, giving up a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your savings.
