The Samsung Galaxy Note8 is slightly better than the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, with a score of 83 against 78.1. These phones have Android OS (Operating System), but Samsung Galaxy Note8 has the newer 9.0 Pie version while Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus has Android 6.0 Marshmallow, giving you some extra features and performance optimizations. Samsung Galaxy Note8 is a newer cellphone than Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, but it's heavier and a little bit thicker.
